Getting Started¶
1. Install a launcher¶
Use Prism Launcher (free, open source) or the CurseForge App.
2. Create an instance¶
Search for Craft Industrial Warfare or import the modpack file. Ensure you are on NeoForge 1.21.1.
3. Join the server¶
Add the server with:
No whitelist. No account verification required (online-mode is off).
4. Set up voice chat¶
Press V to open the Voice Chat menu. The server runs a built-in proximity voice chat backend. You do not need any external mods or plugins — it is bundled with the modpack.
| Setting | Recommended |
|---|---|
| Voice chat distance | 16–32 blocks |
| Codec | Opus (default) |
| Directional audio | Enabled |
5. Create or join a team¶
Use the FTB Teams system to claim chunks and protect your builds:
See Commands for the full list.
6. First night¶
- Punch trees, make a crafting table
- Find iron — you need it for Create shafts and cogwheels
- Build a water wheel or windmill for mechanical power
- Set up a claim to protect your base (see Server Rules)
7. What to expect¶
- Progression is gated by materials. You cannot skip to late-game guns without first building industrial infrastructure.
- Create is the backbone. Most automation runs on rotating shafts, gearboxes, and mechanical crafters.
- Steel is the turning point. Once you can produce steel, you unlock oil drilling, firearms, radar, and aircraft.
- Claims protect your builds. FTB Chunks prevents griefing in claimed chunks.
- Battles are pre-declared. PvP and terrain destruction only happen in declared arenas or war-claims.
